When I Grow Up.... - I wannabe a Pop Star, a Sports Star or an Entrepreneur
My views on Today's Economy

  • The word recession is so so negative. It does not give us hope. I prefer to say we are in a down-turn. This tells me that an up-turn is coming.
  • We had tough times many times and my Dad used to say we had big and small friends called Bill 1, Bill 2 and Bill 3. I remember us being very happy when he told us that we only had 1 friend left and his name was Billie. I plan on never having big bills. I told my parents I do not want a Christmas present if they had to make another bill.
  • I believe kids have great ideas about business for the future. Schools need to give us more chances to  practice business skills.
  • I think banks need to encourage kids to Save their money and have special ATM's just for kids. We need easy to understand touchscreen computers in the bank that will show us how our money grows and we can choose how long to keep our money locked in.
  • As kids, we need to stop demanding things from our parents. We should ask them for things we really need, not things we want. We must also tell them we know that times are tough. My Dad always asks me to pay 50% of most things like my Golf clubs. I also choose colours like Red/ Green because I can sell them to my brother or friends.
  • I am the biggest fan of recycling. It means I save money and somebody also gets a bargain.

What I would do if I was Taoiseach
  1. Spend money to save money---Get people working to change every government building to be eco -friendly eg change lighting, heating, etc to greener solutions
  2. Get people who are retired or unemployed to do 12 hours work in government offices and hospitals.
  3. Make air and ferry travel to Ireland cheaper and free bus connections from airports to encourage people to come to Ireland.
  4. Build more cycle lanes and provide free bikes
  5. Build more wind turbines in huge factories to export them all over the world
  6. Build a huge theme Park to attract tourists and families
  7. Have a big project for every County so that nobody will feel left out.
